Tullow STEM clinics for 2022 JHS final year student beneficiaries of the Educate To Innovate with STEM project

Tullow Oil Plc is using hands-on STEM practicals to bridge gaps in educational inequalities for students in under resourced communities at Western Region Ghana. In three weeks-30th August to 13th September, the sessions that include experiments in Biology, Physics, Chemistry will be held at the school premises of final year JHS students in the Jomoro, Ellembele, Nzema East, Shama, Sekondi Takoradi Metro and Ahanta West dictricts and Municipals.

The sessions are to provide the final years with practical knowledge of the topics in their General Science subjects in preparation towards their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in October.

The foundation is calling on indigenes in the mentioned districts to volunteer as mentors or coaches to join, in contribution to this educational transformation in their communities.

In the wake of COVID – 19, the EDUCATE TO INNOVATE WITH STEM PROJECT had to find an innovative way of engaging the students as schools were shut down hence the “Tullow STEM Clinic on the move” The STEM Clinic usually done in the laboratory was transferred to the classroom for final year students who resumed school to take their final examinations amid COVID – 19
